Frequently Asked Dentistry Questions

Can you improve how my smile looks?

Of course! Here at Pearl Dentistry, our team is proud to offer a wide variety of cosmetic dentistry services, all designed to transform your smile for the better and seamlessly erase common flaws like chips, cracks, gaps, stains, and more. Teeth whitening, veneer, all-ceramic restorations, Invisalign treatment, and much more are available!

What options are available for teeth whitening?

Here in Denver, Dr. Glamm and Dr. Walker offer both in-office whitening and take-home whitening kits so that their patients can choose the option that best fits their unique needs. The in-office procedure is fast and convenient, creating stunning changes for your smile over the course of a single appointment. Take-home kits can be worn on the patient’s schedule at home and some enjoy improving the shade of their teeth at a more gradual pace.

I don’t want silver or gold restorations in my smile. Do you have an alternative?

Our team strongly believes in providing restorative choices for patients that improve both their oral health and the aesthetic value of their look. That’s why Dr. Walker and Dr. Glamm primarily offer all-ceramic crowns, bridges, inlays, and onlays that are custom-made by our lab technician. These restorations provide quality and strength while also giving you back the complete, seamless smile you deserve. We can also provide tooth-colored fillings!

Is there a way to straighten my smile without metal braces?

Absolutely. At Pearl Dentistry, we’re happy to offer Invisalign treatment to correct minor orthodontic issues. Patients wear clear, customized aligners that are virtually unnoticeable, allowing them to make the changes they want without sacrificing their self-confidence in the process. Contact our Denver, CO dental office today to schedule a consultation!

Do you see children?

Yes! Dr. Glamm and Dr. Walker are always happy to welcome patients of all ages and entire families to Pearl Dentistry. Our team members are very friendly and warm, and we always do our best to help your little one feel at ease with careful check-ups, gentle cleanings, and other preventive measures designed to protect their growing smiles.

I’ve lost some of my teeth. What are my options for replacing them?

Here in the Lower Highlands neighborhood, we have multiple reconstructive solutions available for patients who are struggling with mild to severe tooth loss. We typically recommend dental implants above all else, which offer patients revitalizing health benefits, long lasting stability, and a beautiful, natural appearance. If you aren’t a viable candidate for implants, dental bridges or dentures can also be a big help with replenishing your smile in a strong and lifelike manner. Every patient is different, and what works for one may not work for another. That’s why Dr. Glamm and Dr. Walker will be happy to review these different options thoroughly with you before you make your final decision.

I’m unhappy with how my denture fits in my mouth. Is there any way to make it sturdier?

Looseness is a common problem with traditional dentures, and it can lead to patients feeling more self-conscious than ever before. Thankfully, implant-retained prosthetics can make a big difference. By altering your existing denture (or providing a new denture) and placing a small number of dental implants at strategic positions within your jawbone, we can allow for you to snap the prosthetic into place over the implants so that they’re held securely in place for a much more confident fit. Both fixed and removable options are available, depending on your preference.

How do I know if I need periodontal therapy?

Common signs of periodontal disease include oral bleeding, a change in the feel of your bite, significant bad breath, and gum tissue that’s tender, red, or swollen. In some cases, though, symptoms may not manifest until it’s too late to reverse the damage done. Attending regular check-ups at our Denver Lower Highlands neighborhood dental office is the only sure way to have your needs diagnosed and for revitalizing treatment to be provided at the earliest stage possible.

Why are oral cancer screenings so important?

On average, oral cancer kills one person an hour, which is more than either cervical or skin cancer. Thankfully, the one bright spot is that treatment can be very successful as long as it’s provided early enough. Helping you preserve your oral health and your quality of life is important to us, which is why Dr. Glamm and Dr. Walker will do everything they can to locate potentially abnormal cells early on.

The thought of dental care makes me very nervous. Can you help me relax during my appointment?

Yes! Both nitrous oxide and oral conscious sedation are available to put you at ease while we improve the health and beauty of your smile. Just make sure to let us know before your visit that you’re interested in sedation dentistry.
